Planning and hosting what we call a “Dress Drive” is an amazingly fun and generous way to give back to your local community!  A Dress Drive is a pre-planned, coordinated event designed to collect all of the items necessary to help Bella Boutique offer the area’s best selection of free prom gowns and accessories.

Although we call this a Dress Drive, it is equally important that we receive prom jewelry, formal shoes, hair accessories handbags and unused hair & skin care products.  As far as the gowns themselves, we are looking for all types of evening wear including cocktail dresses, bridesmaids dresses, prom gowns in all shapes and sizes. What Is a Dress Drive?

A Dress Drive is a fun and easy way to collect dresses, jewelry and accessories that will go directly to Bella Boutique and ultimately end up going home with one of the teens we work with.  A dress drive can be hosted by someone young or old, and is an excellent way to give back.  There is no “One Size Fits All” when it comes to a dress drive.  Whether you choose to host your event in a school, church, workplace or home, we can help you make sure you Dress Drive is a success!

How Do I Get Started?

Getting started may seem like a big task, but planning and hosting a Bella Boutique Dress Drive is an incredible way to volunteer and give back to your community!

Here are a few steps to get you started:

  • Find someone to help you host your event to ensure it’s success!
  • Nail down a date and contact us at Bella Boutique at least one month beforehand to let us know you are planning a Dress Drive.
  • Let us know if you need to track your volunteer hours for school or a community organization so that we can help you track your hours.

What Can I Collect at a Dress Drive?

Making prom wishes comes true requires more than a dress.  A Dress Drive is a way for the community to get involved in stocking our boutique with a vast selection to provide a wonderful experience.  Our organization is currently in need of:

  • Formal dresses, especially those that are size 14 and up.
  • Formal open or closed-toe shoes in any size.
  • Small purses and handbags to coordinate with a formal gown.
  • Accessories such as rhinestone earrings, necklaces, bracelets, hair barrettes and more.

 

Can I Get Volunteer Hours?

If you are a student looking to gain volunteer hours for your school or an extracurricular activity, hosting a Dress Drive is a wonderful idea.  Please contact us prior to planning your Dress Drive so that we can work with your school and/or organization to ensure that you can receive credit for your hours and so we can help you track the hours.
